Created
in 1991 by the city of Saint-Etienne and SNF company, the world first
larger producer of floculants for water purification, the Pôle
de l'Eau (the Saint-Etienne Centre for Water Technologies) is grouping
together 150 members: companies, laboratories, teaching establishments
and public bodies whose activities are related to water and effluents
treatment, seTTing-up a technological platform for:
- Sharing
technical and commercial resources.
- Mobilising
industrialist to deal with the challenge of industrial waste water treatment.
- Launching
programmes of specialised training in the industrial waste field.
One
of the specific role of Pôle de l'Eau is the seTTing-up and co-ordination
of international and national partnership projects on industrial basis
interest in the field of environment.
These
projects are currently covering various types of activities ranging from
training, research and development production and commercial operations.
This
is precisely the role to be played by Pôle de l'Eau in the scope
of this project regarding not only the French partners but also the Spanish
and Portuguese ones.
